Week F1V3

Day 5 working in Solidworks.

As more techniques become apparent to me... so increases the frequency of assistance requests I receive from my friends.

This lesson i spent the first hour and a half completing the tasks and then the next 2 hours helping my friends. This actually really helped me learn and by the 5th time i had shown someone how to do any particular exercise, I had perfected the methods.

This pulley. This bloody pulley man. I had to check the dimensions of this part at least 6 times before i eventually got it right. And after all these attempts and edits, I still have no idea what I had been doing wrong. I guess the dimensions weren't always entered properly. It couldn't be much else. But because the process was long and arduous, it was very hard to pinpoint where i went wrong.

Soon....... Soon I will be more powerful than the tutors themselves. My day will come.

Getting into tha groove

This weeks exercises went really smoothly for me. I can really feel myself getting the hang of the program now. There are still many things I don't quite fully grasp such as these intense condition tabs:

However, while these green squares make little sense to me, I was able to achieve the desired shape just the same as usual:

I intend to install Solidworks at home and begin using it for my 3D modelling over Autodesk 123D Design.

Week 3

This week I properly explored the basic tools in Solidworks. The overall process is quite similar to how Autodesk 123D Design works but a little more complex and quite a lot less easy to pick up. It's interesting transitioning my skills between programs and I'm hoping the differences I see become less apparent.

Solidworks tutorial part.
The 2nd image is the first shape I designed in Solidworks and I was quite satisfied with the ease of the tutorial.
